Archery - Archery is available on site with qualified instructors.
Grass sledging - There are four grass sledges available for hire.
Pioneering - Poles and ropes available for hire.
Orienteering - suitable foris available FREE OF CHARGE. Equipment andinstructions are available in all buildings and campsites. There is also a Rainbow/Brownie Trail. Click here to download the sheet.
The Ash Centre - A huge variety of equipment is available for use FREE OF CHARGE by anyone camping or staying in any of our buildings. A list can be provided on enquiry.
BBQs – There is a gas BBQ which can be hired by anyone using any of the buildings or campsites. There is also a charcoal BBQ situated near the Ranger Den for which you will need to bring your own fuel.

Swimming - Sports Centre - New Mills - about one and a half miles. Squash courts, saunas, swimming pool.
Walking - Numerous walks of varying lengths - Contact the Manchester County Walking Adviser. Note that From Hayfield and Glossop to Kinder and Bleaklow designated "open country" under the Walking Safely Scheme.
Rock climbing - Windgather Rocks near Kettleshulme, Stanage Edge near Hathersage and Laddow Rocks near Crowden. If rock climbing contact the County Outdoor Activities Adviser at Girlguiding Manchester.

DisleyVillage - Many parts of Disley are very old and worth further investigation. A town trail can be provided on request.
Lyme Park and Hall (www.nationaltrust.org.uk Tel. 0870 458 4000) - The park, which can be accessed by walking almost entirely off-road, has a herd of Red Deer and magnificent trees, a big lake and a hill crowned with a square tower known as The Cage. There is a nature trail, children's playground, Pitch & Putt and orienteering courses of varying lengths and difficulty and refreshment facilities. The Park is open from 8am to dusk. Sessions with a Park Ranger can be booked. Lyme Hall is partly Tudor and for many years the home of the Legh family. Now National Trust property and well worth seeing. Pride and Prejudice was filmed here.
Bow Stones - High up on Lyme Moor, these two ancient pillars probably marked the boundary of Macclesfield Forest and are reputed to be haunted.
